Do you know the Buckeyes? They are some balls or chocolates of chocolate and peanut butter very popular in the United States, especially in the city of Ohio.

Also, Buckeyes is the name given to all local state university sports teams. We do not know the relationship between the two but what we do know is that you will love the Buckeyes recipe .

Buckeyes Recipe

You may think that the combination of chocolate and peanut butter is typical and even expected in a dessert from the United States. But it’s because you haven’t tried the Buckeyes yet.

They are usually served as a dessert at Christmas, New Year’s Eve and Thanksgiving. Some also offer these chocolates at weddings and birthdays.

Ingredients

  • Peanut butter
  • ½ cup of butter (100 g)
  • 1 ½ cup of sugar (150 g)
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla essence (10 ml)
  • 350 g chocolate chips

Preparation

  • First, put the peanut butter and regular butter in a bowl. Integrates well. Then  add the sugar and the vanilla essence while stirring. Next, with a spoon and your hands, make balls of 2 cm more or less. Place on a tray and reserve.
  • Then, put the chocolate in a saucepan and melt in a double boiler.
  • When it is melted remove from the heat. Let it cool down a bit. Pour over the butter balls and wrap with aluminum foil.
  • To finish, place on a tray and refrigerate for about 2 hours, until serving time.

  • Tips: To make it easier for the chocolate to cover the chocolates, you can dip them in the saucepan and remove with a toothpick or toothpick. Be careful not to stain everything when you take them out! You can also offer the frozen version, if you put them in the freezer for 1 hour.

  • 1 box brownie mix
  • ¼ cup of butter (50 g)
  • 120 g cream cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of peanut butter (200 g)
  • 1 ½ chocolate bar (120 g)

  • Spoon or spatula
  • Baking tin
  • Container
  • Microwave saucepan or container
  • Film paper
  • Tray

Preparation

Chocolate

  • To start, heat the oven to 180 ° C. Next, in a medium bowl, beat the brownie mixture with the butter, cream cheese, and egg. The dough will be a bit sticky. Next,  form round cookies (more or less makes 24) and place on an ungreased cookie sheet.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the sugar and peanut butter until well combined. Then, form balls of about 2 cm (you should also have 24). Reservation.
  • Next, bake the cookie dough for 12 minutes. When you remove them, place a ball of peanut butter in the center of each cookie and squash it with a spoon or your finger. The peanut butter mixture will soften a bit. Let the cookies cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  • Lastly, melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl for 45 seconds. (You can also do it in a water bath). Pour over each cookie and arrange on a tray. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

  • Tips: If you don’t want to put all the cookies on the same tray, feel free to wrap each one in aluminum foil before storing in the fridge.
