Balancing Infusions For Women

The remedies that we present are natural and do not usually have side effects, although sage is contraindicated in pregnancy

Medicinal plants have beneficial properties for men and women. However, some plants have specific virtues for female health that make them essential remedies to prevent and treat some disorders. Discover in this article which balancing infusions can help you regulate your health.

Ginger

This root is one of the most important for women’s health. Many of its properties can effectively treat different female health disorders:

  • It increases the temperature of the body, so it can help  fight the usual cold in the extremities.
  • They are attributed aphrodisiac properties. It can increase libido, especially during menopause.
  • It prevents dizziness and nausea during pregnancy and after gynecological operations.
  • In animals it seems to accelerate metabolism, reduce cholesterol and contribute to weight loss.

  • Reduces inflammation and rheumatic pain.

We can prepare an infusion to take advantage of its properties:

Ingredients

  • 2 or 3 slices of peeled fresh ginger
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml)

Preparation

  • Heat the water with the ginger slices and let it boil for 5 minutes.
  • Then let it sit for another 5 before sweetening it to your liking.
  • The ginger infusion combines very well with lemon and honey.

We can also use powdered ginger, in which case it does not need to boil.

Cinnamon

This delicious and aromatic spice is an excellent remedy for women for the following reasons:

  • Lowers blood pressure and improves overall circulation.

Ingredients

  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 cup of water (250 ml)

Preparation

  • To prepare the infusion we will boil the water for 10 minutes together with the cinnamon  stick (if we opt for ground cinnamon, it does not need to boil).
  • After removing it from the heat, we will let it rest for 5 more minutes.
  • The cinnamon infusion is delicious if we combine it with a little cocoa, a splash of vegetable milk and a little honey.

Sage

The virtues of sage for women are mainly due to its content in phytoestrogens, estrogens of plant origin. These compounds make sage a very suitable plant for the following disorders:

  • Irregular menstruation due to lack of estrogens.
  • Symptoms related to menopause, such as hot flashes, nausea, sweating, migraine or dizziness.
  • Thanks to phytoestrogens, sage  can also help us balance our emotions when hormonal irregularities cause us states of sadness and depression.

We can prepare the infusion with the leaves and flowers of the plant, fresh or dried.

Sage is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding, as it reduces milk production.

Chasteberry

If the problem is excess estrogen, we recommend opting for chasteberry infusions ( Vitex Agnus Castus ), a medicinal plant that has been traditionally used to prevent irregular menstruation and to restore ovulation in women suffering from amenorrhea (absence of menstruation ). .

This plant can be of help if  s índrome polycystic ovary.  Chasteberry should not be taken if you are taking oral contraceptives or following any other hormonal treatment.

Hypericum

St. John’s wort is a traditional remedy to combat mild depression naturally and avoid having to take antidepressant drugs.

It also has anti-inflammatory effects, making it a very suitable plant for women suffering from fibromyalgia or chronic fatigue, both to help them physically and to combat the discouragement caused by daily pain.

We should not take St. John’s wort during pregnancy or in combination with other medications.
