Green smoothies are all the rage. They are a very complete type of food that has more and more followers thanks to its nutritional values ​​and its surprising and delicious flavor, despite its particular color. We will tell you more about it below. 

What are green smoothies?

Green smoothies are creamy drinks made with fruits, vegetables and all kinds of healthy foods: cereals, seeds, nuts, cold-pressed oils, etc. They rarely make them with a dairy product (vegetable drinks are usually preferred) and sweeteners or refined sugars are not usually added to them, so they are very healthy recipes.

The best time of day to have a green smoothie is in the morning, along with or after breakfast . If we are hungrier, we can have some fruit for a snack a little later.

On the other hand, if we do not usually eat breakfast, it is best to prepare it a little more liquid and sip it during the morning, as if it were a juice.

Green smoothies should not replace any food, as this could be detrimental to health. In case you want to do it, to avoid overeating, it should be done in a timely manner and never routinely.

  • 5 walnuts
  • 1 banana (60 g).
  • 1 apple (80 g).
  • Stevia (to taste).
  • 1/2 cup of spinach (50 g).
  • 3 teaspoons of rolled oats (12 g).
  • 1 tablespoon of cocoa (10 g).
  • 1 glass of water or vegetable drink (250 ml).
  • 3 teaspoons of extra virgin coconut oil (15 g).

Elaboration

  • We cut the fruit into small pieces to make them easier to process. (It is not necessary to remove the peel from the apple).
  • We put all the ingredients in the blender and process until we obtain a homogeneous mixture.
  • We test, rectify the thickness if we consider it and that’s it.
  • To decorate, we can place a few chia seeds on top and a mint leaf.
